In Northern Florida along the Suwannee River is a place known as Suwannee Springs. I explored around the area and saw the ruins from the old Suwannee Springs Resort that was built there in the late 1800’s. One of the fascinating sites I saw was the spring water well that the guests used. Back then it was in the center of the resort but today the area is wooded. It’s located behind the spring where the water was pumped in from. As I investigated the site I saw old piping coming out of the ground near the well, part an old storage tank and a small pit.
Seeing this place took me back in time to when people traveled from all around the world to visit here. Part of that experience comes from being able to still see remains throughout the area as you venture around.
I will be posting more on this place as part of a series of posts about this place. I put a video and some helpful links below where you can learn more.
